Vinegar Powders
Ecom has been appointed as exclusive Canadian representative for a major manufacturer of vinegar powders. The white distilled vinegar powder provides the characteristic vinegar flavour to snack coatings, dry mixes and other seasoning blends. One of the largest applications is on salt and vinegar potato chips.
Powders are a convenient form of white distilled vinegar. They are produced through a modern fermentation process, and then dried on a maltodextrin carrier to preserve flavour and aroma.
Ecom's own manufacture of oleoresins assures our clients of the availability of wide lines, competitive pricing and stringent quality controls. Oleoresins of paprika and capsicum are found in many snack foods for colour and pungency. If you need a more intense spice flavor, oleoresins are the correct ingredient. Last year Ecom shipped about 170 different types of oleoresins. So we would welcome the opportunity to develop just the right oleoresin for your snack application.
Have you ever considered a blending green bell pepper powder with jalapeno powder? Green bell pepper powder cannot be distinguished from jalapeno powder in blends. It offers a neutral tasting and competitively priced means of achieving the correct heat and jalapeno flavour profile for snacks.

Natural, Yeast Based Flavour Enhancers
Ecom's line of natural flavour enhancers can be used to replace MSG, reduce sodium, and can enhance savoury notes and salt perception.
We have prepared a number of standard formulations specially designed for chip applications. These show these natural flavour enhancers in various chip flavours: cheese (Italian, nacho or spicy), pizza, salsa, cajun or ranch, to name a few.
